“At Present We Would Suggest A Job”

A woman practices her commercial voice acting. Then, the woman and her voice coach, repeating a text over and over until your mind goes numb. Laughter is probable, but, is this not a form of voice sculpture, of “extended technique”? After an interlude of unrelated found piano practice, the woman ‘s private confessions. “I don’t like sex”, etc, and a pining away for a figure named Candy.

The portrait of this unknown person, whose tapes were discovered through dumpstermancy, continues in a long dialogue with a mysterious and emotionally reserved oracle- who dispenses pretentious wisdom on the subject’s by now rather tragic personal problems.

These fragments of a life have been edited to create a radio play.
